Government Records Access Management Act
In 1992, the Government Records Access Management Act (GRAMA) went into effect. GRAMA sets guidelines for classifying all types of data and information in Utah government records based upon who has rights to access that information.
To access information from the Division of Wildlife Resources, you must fill out a GRAMA request form (either online or hardcopy) and submit it to the DWR. To receive copies of DWR records, you must completely fill out the online GRAMA request form or return a printed form with signature by mail, fax or email to our agency.
There are two different GRAMA request forms: (1) the public form, which is for all requests, and (2) the second form, which is only for wildlife violation background checks for the guide licenses.
The following links will take you directly to our forms:
» General online request
» Wildlife violation background check
Once a form is received by the GRAMA coordinator, the DWR has 10 business days in which to respond.
Under the Utah GRAMA rule (Utah Code 63G-2), a reasonable administrative service fee can be (and normally is) assessed for both hard copies and staff time to search, retrieve, summarize, compile and/or tailor requested records.
