Two of Utah's best shooting centers
The DWR operates two great Utah public shooting facilities.

The first time I visited the Cache Valley Public Shooting Range, I was just expecting to do some recreational shooting and relieve some of the stress. It was 1996, and I was a busy college student that had moved my young family to Logan so that I could pursue a fisheries and wildlife degree at Utah State University.
I heard about the range because there was an article in the local newspaper about how the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources had recently assumed management of the range and they needed volunteers.
Both the Cache Valley range and the Lee Kay Public Shooting Range in Salt Lake City feature stellar service, amenities and are open to the public year round.
I walked in to the lobby of the main building and saw the walls covered with taxidermy. Then I saw the shooters enjoying themselves the indoor archery and rimfire .22 ranges. I knew this range was somewhere that I wanted to spend some time.
After a short visit with the staff, I decided to submit an application to become a volunteer range safety officer. I never imagined this would be the start of more than 20 years working with shooting ranges, shooting sports programs and Utah's Hunter Education Program.
Of course, the Cache Valley Public Shooting Range in Logan isn't the only shooting range that the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources owns and operates. In total, the Division operates two of the best full-service public shooting ranges in Utah.
Both the Cache Valley range and the Lee Kay Public Shooting Range in Salt Lake City feature stellar service, amenities and are open to the public year round.
